Family Fridge Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This page focuses on Family Fridge. For Synap1e-wide privacy details and other app addenda, visit the main Privacy Policy.
1. Scope
This addendum applies to the Family Fridge iPhone app and widget, along with Family Fridge support or privacy requests you choose to send to Synap1e.
2. Data stored locally
Family Fridge stores the foods you add, Enough, Low, or Out stock levels, optional best-by dates, shopping choices, local activity history, unfinished Quick Add drafts, recovery data, and app preferences on your iPhone. The app does not require an account and does not provide cloud sync or multi-person household sharing.
3. Camera and receipt scanning
Family Fridge asks for Camera permission only when you choose to scan a receipt. On supported iPhones, document capture and text recognition run on-device to suggest grocery names for your review. Family Fridge does not save raw receipt images or raw recognized receipt text. Only food records you choose to add are stored locally.
4. Widget data
A limited fridge summary is written to the Family Fridge app group on your iPhone so the Home Screen widget can show current attention and shopping status. This app-group write is local communication between the app and widget, not a transmission to Synap1e.
5. What the app does not collect
Family Fridge 1.0 does not collect or transmit your grocery inventory, shopping choices, activity history, Quick Add drafts, receipt images, recognized receipt text, device identifiers, advertising data, or app analytics to Synap1e or third parties. The app includes no ads or tracking SDKs.
6. Retention, deletion, and device backups
Local fridge records remain until you change or delete them, use Clear Fridge Data, or remove the app. Clear Fridge Data removes inventory, shopping choices, activity, unfinished Quick Add drafts, recovery backups, and widget content while keeping preferences such as fridge name and haptics. Removing the app removes its app-owned local data subject to iOS behavior. Apple-managed device backups may include app data according to your device and Apple account settings; Synap1e does not receive or control those backups.
7. Support messages and website visits
If you choose to contact support, Synap1e receives the contact details, device or app details, and message content you provide and uses them to answer your request. Visiting this website may generate standard hosting, security, and performance records, but the Family Fridge app does not send its grocery or receipt data to this website.
8. Your controls
You can deny or revoke Camera access in iOS Settings and continue adding groceries manually. You can edit or delete individual foods, use Clear Fridge Data for a local reset, remove Family Fridge from the iPhone, or contact privacy@synap1e.com about information you deliberately submitted in a support or privacy request.
9. App-specific addendum
Family Fridge addendum
Family Fridge is a local-first iPhone app. It requires no account and does not send grocery inventory, shopping choices, activity, receipt content, or app analytics to Synap1e-operated servers.
