Loadline Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This addendum applies to the Loadline iPhone app, its widgets and the Loadline Apple Watch app, version 1.0 and later, along with Loadline support or privacy requests you choose to send to Synap1e.

2. Data stored on your devices

Loadline stores your body weight, units and settings, the answers you give during setup, your gear (packs, plates and presets with their weights), every ruck you record (distance, time, pace, pack weight, calories, climb, terrain, splits and the GPS route), heart-rate samples read from Apple Health during a ruck when allowed, and a log of what the app did for the diagnostics file. This lives in the app's own container and in a shared container used by the app, its widgets and the Watch app. It is included in your device backups under Apple's rules, is never sent to Synap1e, and is deleted with the app.

3. Apple Health

If you allow it, Loadline writes each ruck to Apple Health as a Hiking workout, with Loadline's own calorie figure, the distance, the route and your pack weight in the workout's metadata. It reads heart rate during a ruck and, in the Import screen, your existing workouts so you can log a pack weight against them. Health data is used only to show you your rucks and to compute calories. It is never sent to Synap1e or anyone else, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold. Change Loadline's access at any time under iOS Settings, Health, Data Access & Devices.

4. Location

Loadline asks for location while using the app. During a ruck it keeps recording your route in the background so the screen can be off, and iOS shows its indicator while that happens. Routes are stored on your device. The app never asks for Always location and never records a location outside a ruck. Share cards can hide the first and last 200 m of a route (the privacy zone). Posts to Crew carry a small drawing of the route's shape, never its coordinates.

5. Crew and iCloud

Crew is optional and works only when your device is signed into iCloud. When you set up a Crew profile and post, Loadline stores in your iCloud, through Apple's CloudKit: your iCloud user identifier (Apple's record name, not your email), the display name and handle you choose and any free-text area you add, what you post (title, note, the ruck's distance, load, time, calories, climb and route silhouette), kudos, comments, follows, crew requests, club memberships, events and replies, challenges, and messages you send as plain text, stored in the iCloud of whichever of the two people owns the conversation. A post to Everyone is visible to any Loadline user; a post to your crew or a club is shared through CloudKit's private sharing with those people; Only you, the default, creates no record. Loadline has no server: Crew data moves between Apple's servers and the devices of the people you have chosen to share with, encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. Synap1e cannot read, moderate or recover it. Apple's privacy policy governs iCloud.

6. Notifications

Loadline can show local notifications: a weekly recap, a reminder the evening before an event you said you were going to, and, for Crew, a note when someone gives kudos, comments on your post or asks to join your crew. The Crew ones are triggered by silent CloudKit pushes from Apple; no Synap1e server sends anything, and no notification carries data anywhere.

7. Loadline Pro

Loadline Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment, the trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its terms. Loadline checks your subscription status with Apple's StoreKit on your device and stores nothing about it itself. Synap1e never receives your name, address or payment details.

8. Sharing, export and diagnostics

Everything that leaves the app does so because you asked: the share card, a GPX file, a CSV of all rucks, or a diagnostics file for a problem report. Each goes through the iOS share sheet to the app or person you pick, not to Synap1e. The diagnostics file contains your device model, iOS version, permissions, settings, the numbers from your last ten rucks and Loadline's log. It never contains a route.

9. What the app does not collect

Loadline contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party software development kits. It does not track you across apps or websites, and its privacy manifest says so. The only services it talks to are Apple's: Health, iCloud, the App Store, and Apple Maps for the map tiles behind your routes, which Apple serves under its own policy. Loadline is not directed at children under 13, and Crew is not intended for them.

10. Retention, deletion and your controls

Data on your devices stays until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Health data stays in Apple Health under your control. Crew data stays in your iCloud until you delete it with Delete my social data (Settings, Privacy, Crew & privacy), which removes your profile, handle, posts, kudos, comments, follows, crew, clubs you founded, messages you own and blocks, or until you delete a post, comment or conversation. Export all rucks (Settings, Data) gives you a copy of your records. Synap1e holds nothing about you, so requests to access, correct or delete data are ones you carry out yourself in the app, in Apple Health and in iCloud.
